Dr Duncan Taylor
Dr Duncan Taylor is a fully accredited Specialist Plastic Surgeon working in Perth, Western Australia, with over 20 years of specialist training and experience. He holds Specialist status, being board certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from both the United Kingdom (Royal College of Surgeons of England) and Australia (Royal Australasian College of Surgeons).
After obtaining his Primary Medical Degree (MBChB) from Sheffield University (UK) in 2002, he was selectively appointed to both basic and higher specialist training programmes in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During this time, Duncan further developed his sub-specialist interests in surgical oncology, microsurgery reconstruction and hand surgery.
Duncan undertook two specialist Fellowships to further his experience and interests in Microsurgical (cancer) Reconstruction. Initially at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (Australia, WA) in 2014, followed by Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals (UK) in 2015, the latter being internationally recognised as one of the leading microsurgical reconstructive centres.

Duncan returned to Perth in 2016 to take up consultant posts at both Fiona Stanley and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Here he has continued his dedicated work in surgical oncology, focusing on skin and melanoma and microsurgical reconstruction (predominantly Autologous Breast Reconstruction).
Having already performed over 1000 “free tissue transfers”, he is a highly experienced and well-respected expert in this field locally and internationally. Duncan has published in numerous International Peer Review Journals and presented nationally and internationally, and he continues his enthusiasm for teaching locally and through instructional courses.
Duncan holds public hospital positions at Sir Charles Gairdner and Fiona Stanley Hospitals and works privately out of his rooms in West Perth and operating in numerous Private Hospitals in North and South Metro regions.

Amy Heal
Registered Nurse
Amy is Dr Taylor's practice nurse, who will assist you during the pre and postoperative phases of your patient journey, working with Dr Taylor since 2016 and in Healthcare for over ten years. Her extensive clinical experience and passion for her work will ensure that you are well-informed, prepared, comfortable and supported.
After finishing her Bachelor of Nursing at Notre Dame University, Amy completed a graduate program at Royal Perth Hospital, gaining experience in general medical and surgical wards and high-dependency care. After this, she spent seven years working at Fiona Stanley Hospital, finding her niche in theatre as a Clinical Nurse in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Amy is currently completing her Masters of Peri-Operative Nursing at the University of Notre Dame and working at Royal Perth Hospital as a Staff Development Nurse.
Amy's gentle, compassionate nature, commitment to a high standard of care, and dedication to teaching and holistic support are at the core of her practice.


Nikki Carey
Registered Nurse
As Dr. Duncan Taylor's dedicated theatre nurse, Nikki brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to her role.
Joining Dr Duncan Taylor's team in 2021 Nikki brings military precision, a deep understanding of trauma care, and the importance of human connection and support throughout treatment and procedures.

Nikki's journey in healthcare began in 2001 as a military nurse for Princess Mary's Royal Air Force. She served in several diverse locations in the United Kingdom and Iraq. She was honoured with the OP TELIC Medal in 2006.
During her 14-year career as a Nurse in the military, Nikki developed her skills as a Ward Nurse, moving into a perioperative practice in 2007.
In 2015, Nikki immigrated to Australia as a Clinical Nurse in Burns and Reconstructive Surgery at Fiona Stanley Hospital. Here, she continued her progressive work in holistic care.
Nikki believes that a supported journey, where every patient feels safe, heard and cared for, is as important as the outcomes of the surgery.
