Gynaecomastia
What is Gynaecomastia?

Gynaecomastia is a condition in males that causes excessive growth of breast tissue. This can be from hormonal imbalance, genetics, obesity or certain medications. I this procedure Dr Taylor will make an incision into the breast, the excess tissue is removed, and the wound sutures are closed. For patients that also have excess skin and a drooping nipple, a more extensive surgery can be completed. This involves removing the drooping skin and lifting the nipple into a new position. The end result will be a more natural ‘male’ looking chest in shape and size.

Office work 1 week,
Strenuous work/exercise 6 weeks.

Other Things to Consider
-
Treatment of this underlying condition must be treated prior to surgery.
-
You will have scars from this surgery.
-
If you have only a small amount of breast tissue and you are young with good skin elasticity, you may see good results from liposuction. This is less invasive and prevents scars.
